Looking after your health and safety: HAZARDOUS PLANT MATERIAL WARNING

  • Please note that some flowers and plants may be harmful or poisonous to humans or animals.

  • Bouquets and arrangements are for decorative purposes only. Please do not eat, and avoid contact with children and animals.

  • In particular, your arrangement may contain foxgloves, which are poisonous and toxic if eaten.

  • Some flowers or foliage may cause skin or eye irritation. Take care when touching flowers and foliage and always ensure that you wash your hands carefully immediately after handling.

Deliveries

  • Please make sure that you provide us with full and accurate details for flower delivery, including the full address and postcode, a contact number and the name of the recipient, which should be entered under the 'Shipping' section at Checkout. Please also provide your contact details under 'Billing details'. If there are anomalies in the details submitted, this may lead to problems or delays in delivery.

  • Should there be a delay to your delivery we'll notify you as soon as possible, so you should provide a daytime contact number and email address where you and/or your recipient will be available.

  • It's your responsibility to ensure that the person or persons in receipt of flowers are available at the address provided on the agreed delivery date.  Where no-one is available, we'll try to leave with a neighbour or safe place and leave a calling card in the intended recipient’s door to contact us.

  • Where deliveries are delivered to a third party such as offices, hospitals, hotels etc the signature of any person authorised to accept deliveries on behalf of the organisation will be considered accepted proof of delivery.  We can't be held responsible if that person then fails to deliver to the correct person.

  • Whilst we agree to ensure delivery on the agreed delivery date, we cannot guarantee a specific time, and on occasion where circumstances are out of our control and we cannot deliver we'll contact you as soon as possible to re-arrange another delivery date, or will reimburse you in full.

  • Where goods have been correctly delivered to a specified address, we can't be held responsible if the intended recipient has moved or lives elsewhere and the actual recipient refuses or fails to return goods to us.

  • In the instance of the recipient not being available we reserve the right to contact the intended recipient via the details supplied by you at the time of placing your order.

Order cancellations

  • When you place an online order for flower delivery, should you realise you have made a mistake or change your mind, we are able to amend or cancel your order up to 12 noon on the day before the scheduled delivery date you requested. We're sorry but after this time we are unable to offer a refund for flowers on a ‘change your mind’ basis. This cancellation policy does not apply to weddings, which are covered by our separate wedding flowers contract.

Unforeseen events

  • There are certain situations or events which may occur that are not within our reasonable control, and which may prevent us from carrying out your order. Examples include but are not limited to: sudden ill health; requirement by NHS Test & Trace to self isolate for Covid-19; adverse weather conditions; acts of God; industrial action, public disorder; road traffic accident or severe traffic delays which may make it impossible or unsafe for us to perform any of the services.

  • In such a situation prevents us from being able to carry out our services for you, we will offer you a full refund on any monies paid.

  • In the event of any dispute, the value of any compensation or refund will not exceed the value of the goods ordered.

  • In the event of any flowers becoming damaged in transit, we will offer a replacement of equal value.

  • Any complaints must be made within 24 hours of flowers being delivered by contacting Umbel via email at cathy@umbel.co.uk or by telephone at 07810 436181.
